The Black Boat was home-built in 1934 by Austin Clarkson. In the late 1980s, in poor condition, it was put into storage and remained unused for over 20 years. In the summer of 2009, I took on the task of completely restoring the Black Boat. The restoration of the boat took over 1500 hours and required paint stripping, wood repair, engine restoration and finish carpentry.
